With the Kobla Guide app downloaded, your phone becomes an eco-friendly travel guide in your pocket. Attractions and routes tailored to the municipality the user is in are presented on a map in the app. Attractions can be large and small sights, or places with practical value for those visiting or living in the municipality. Routes can be good hiking suggestions, cycle paths or smart shortcuts for those who walk or cycle.
For each attraction or route, Kobla Guide presents a text poster with images and information. The poster can link to other websites, and dynamic content such as films, audio clips and 3D models can be included. The app also shows the easiest way to travel to the attraction, preferably by public transport or actively.
Kobla Guide uses the GPS in the smartphone to understand that the user is arriving at an attraction and can thus provide the user with push messages with more information, location-specific quizzes or tasks, when it happens. Kobla Guide can register whether or not the journey to the attraction has been green. Thus, there are a number of parameters that can be used to award bonus points or set up fun competitions such as hiking orienteering, pole or treasure hunts, collecting all checkpoints and so on. Sharing photos taken at each location with others who arrive is also a feature that can be activated.
Kobla Guide safeguards the user’s privacy in the strongest possible way. Users do not share their location with the server without actively choosing to do so, but visitor statistics can be shared with the municipality without compromising privacy.
