Kobla Guide

Your mobile phone as a tour guide

Small or large destination? Do you need a map-based guide to attractions and activities? Or are you a municipality that wants to highlight museums, experiences and offers in your municipality?

With the Kobla Guide app downloaded, your phone becomes a tour guide in your pocket. Attractions and routes tailored to the user’s location are presented on a map in the app. Attractions can be large and small sights, or places with practical value for those visiting or living in the municipality. Routes can be good hiking suggestions, cycle paths or smart shortcuts for those who walk or cycle.

For each attraction or route, Kobla Guide presents a text poster with images and information. The poster can link to other websites, and dynamic content such as films, audio clips and 3D models can be included. The app also shows the easiest way to travel to the attraction, preferably sustainable.

  • Easy setup and configuration of attractions and routes.
  • Competitions and challenges encourage visitors to stay longer and increase your revenue.
  • Built-in travel planner that rewards green modes of travel.
  • Supports dynamic content such as movies, audio clips or 3D models.
  • Easy to link to existing material, such as web pages.
  • Easy setup of competitions and prize giving.
  • Can be adapted to municipalities or smaller units such as hotels, museums or similar.

Case study: The Golden Road

For visitors, Den Gyldne Omvei is a route that runs through beautiful cultural landscapes in Inderøy municipality in Trøndelag, with food, art and cultural experiences along the way. Along The Golden Road, visitors can experience artisans, farm food, historical memorials, galleries and art museums, sculpture parks – and eat and sleep well in peaceful and unique surroundings.

For the tourism companies in Inderøy, The Golden Road is a successful collaboration that has created a brand and an experience that is completely unique in a Norwegian context. In order to strengthen the offer to visitors and highlight all the offers in the area, the cooperative has started a collaboration with Kobla. The first test was carried out by tourists in the summer of 2025 and a new round will be carried out in the summer of 2026. The collaboration is already yielding results in the form of new insights into how visitors travel and how long they stay at each destination.
